Just a quick little note to let you all know that I'm still about, sort of, and that I'm really REALLY sick of having no internet acess (I'm currently on a mad irish computer while I house-sit and feed cats!!)
Hadn't realised that it had been so long since I'd posted so here's the news so far...
Sprog and I are both fine and dandy, even if we're still over in Perry Barr,
Still single (poot),
Still don't get out often, except for this Fri when I'm off to a workmates farewell bash (she's nicking off to Spain to start a new life!),
For those of you who know my mam sit down now, she visited in Dec and loved Brum,
Nearly finished NVQ2 teaching assistant, if all goes well I'm done next month, then there's only lvl 3...
Apart from that everything is pretty much plodding on as normal - whatever that is? I'll try to update a bit more often, although less often would be difficult!!! Hopefully I'll be around at least til the weekend when I get turfed out of here in preference to the 'real owners' (I am thinking of putting up a fight as I'm enjoying myself, not to mention a 15 min walk to school in the morning rather than a hour+ and 2 buses!)

Well it's been a few days so I have just about recovered enough from the weekend to tell you all about it!
As they are wont to do the weekend started on a Friday (shocking huh??) and on this particular Friday I decided that in the interest of friendship I should go to Eddies and get drunk at angelkitty's birthday do. Once we arrived I discovered another friend of mine was having a birthday bash so I got to see lots of people I know, including cybertronik, dark_delirium and threetrees as well as others who I only know by one name such as Neil(the birthday boy). As is to be expected at these events imbibing of alcohol thus ensued!!! ;=P.
After regaining consciousness (I really should avoid the alphabetti spaghetti!!). I spent a quiet Saturday out and about with Sproglet, we went to see dark_delirium and her wonderful though somewhat strange artwork (I never claimed to be artistically minded!!). After bumping into yaran_moriarty, who unfortunately arrived as the gallery was closing, we all trooped off to the Custard Factory for solstice doings, which for the Sproglet involved jumping like a loon on the bouncy castle provided while I froze certain parts of my anatomy off. It was at this point I realized the one flaw in my flawless plan... the bar did not allow kids!! So with heavy heart and frozen toes, as well as whineing child I headed home before the ritual I had hoped to mock, err... participate in. [Reverence with mirth!]
Indovan at this point suggested that more alcohol was needed so,babysitter in place, off we went to Scruffies where I met up with more people (and sheep) that I know and ended up having a damn fine night in damn fine company, then staggering home at ungodly o'clock. Fun, fun, fun!!!
Sunday was supposed to be the Mage game but as things ended up we didn't make it so, as compensation, Indovan and I headed out once more in the evening and ended the weekend with a late night bounce fest at Missing where there was much of the cheese to bop around to and yet more alcohol for the drinking!!!
Come the morn, or late afternoon as was the case we bade sad farewells to Indovan who has now nicked off to Ireland for a couple of weeks for the evil worky thing (and getting drunk with lots of Irish people knowing him!).
After that it was pretty boring until Wednesday when I took angelkitty to see Gordon Ramsey and buy her his book as a b/day pressie. It was fun except for the extra hour Gordon took to find his way to the event, but he made up for the wait by apologizing very nicely and then embarrassing angelkitty on request (its up to her if she wants to give more details as I know for a fact she'd kill me if I did!!!).
That is pretty much it for my week but the Sproglet did go on a school trip to the zoo today (His very first time at the zoo and on a trip without me!!!!)Apparently he had fun but getting information out of him is like getting glitter away from angelkitty - it doesn't happen!
Ahh well, thats all I can be hassled with so till I next remember to update... Stay tuned and drink lots! xxx

Well I have just returned from witnessing an event that only happens once in about 112 years (no not me buying a round!).
Today for the first time since 1868(ish) Venus passed in front of the sun. It is the first time the complete event has been visible in England since the 1200's (that's before telescopes that is !!).
I found this out while watching the news this morning as I got Sproglet ready for school, needless to say the school knew nothing of it. I also phoned my dear Mama to tell her, as she is into stuff like this, but she sweetly informed me that even if there was some way she could watch it she wouldn't be able to see anything on account of the thunderstorms they are having today.
I decided that I would pop down to the University of Brum to see what I could see anyway as they were showing their observations to the public. It was as exciting as watching a little dot going in front of a big dot can be!
Apparently this event occurs in pairs so the next time it happens will be in about 8 years time but it will be in the southern hemisphere so that kinda rules us out of seeing it, after that I think I heard that it will be about 2117 (I plan on going for as long as I can but COME ON!!!).
It was quite cool to see though as it puts things into perspective for you. Venus took 6 hours to travel over the sun, starting at 6am through to about 12:20pm, I watched the last half-hour. The only frustrating thing was that in the true tradition of great British weather, at 12:15, just before contact with the edge of the sun as Venus left, it got that cloudy that we were not able to see the sun - never mind Venus :-(
I must compliment the students on their wonderfully helpful, informative and friendly attitude (that and, in a couple of cases their cute bums, good looks...)
All in all a worthwhile experience and something to keep for boring any potential grandkids to tears with!!!

Mini update... I have just watched that hunk of sexiness Adrian Paul in a rather good Flick (Shock-horror, the last one was worse than awful, far, far worse... it was called The Owl and if you ever see it advertised run for the hills!!!)The Breed was actually pretty good, it took a while to get started but there were a few good twists near the end and a fight or two (phworr inni butch!)
Well thats all I can be bothered with for now so bye!!

OK enough silliness now it's time for an update.
Went to Pride on Saturday, after having the Sproglet tell the mum of one of his friends exactly where we were going (in that wonderful and unique volume only achievable by small children and town criers!). So Gods know what she thinks of me now, she's probably wondering how many of society's sub-sections I'm trying for - single-mum, goth, pagan, geordie, and now questionable orientation!
Anyway we got into town without further incident, bumped into friends of angelkitty (who was with us) and scared them with Sproglet. Had a really good day, spent a silly amount of money on, among other things, a giant inflatable stegosaur skeleton (that I could actually afford now I'm ciggy-free!), and watched the parade. The most impressive thing was that I successfully distracted the Sprog from the dodgier sights and he didn't put his foot in it with the more outrageously dressed people!
After all the fun of Sat I was quite hopeful for Sunday, which just goes to show how incredibly stupid I can be sometimes!! The Spawn of Satan had returned and was only held at bay temporarily when I took him to a park and let him run riot. Unfortunately I then had to bring him home again and try not to kill him as he took an hour to drink a glass of water and followed this up with another hour to eat a sandwich, at which point he played hell when it was bedtime and he hadn't had a play or his hot chocolate. Ahh well such is parenthood!!!!

Well thats it, I have taken the first steps to becoming a world famous, stupidly wealthy,award winning,top rate goth glamour model!!
OK, so I stepped in last minute to help my new friend darkend_star with her photography project, but I had fun so there!!
We headed of to the forest and I posed for lots of very gothy piccies, you know the type; flouncing round the wood, drifting elfin like between the trees (which ain't easy with my figure I can tell you!!!)wafting serenely through the meadows, getting your full length skirt caught up in the brambles, attaching your lacy bat-like sleeves to the branches, spending the next two hours pulling random greenery bits out of your hair and wondering how the hell that bit of nature got that far down into your knee-high New Rocks in the first place. It was brilliant!!!
I can't wait to see the results!!! Don't worry as soon as I get a copy I'll be showing them to you all until you're sick to death of them!!
The smoke free lifestyle continues on at a merry little pace, and still the body count stands at zero!!!!
The only other thing to have happened recently is that the Sproglet seems to have been taken over a la Body snatchers...
It all started on Saturday when, in an effort to avoid drinking that most hideous and foul of liquids know to morals as water, he actually tried to make himself sick! Needless to say we had words, following which he retired to his room (not entirely his own decision) to consider the error of his ways.
Come Sunday the vomit-inducing act had been scaled down to some muted whimpering and face-pulling.
By yesterday this too had been reduced to calmly sitting and drinking the pro-offered refreshment.
However today the drama took on a new and more sinister element when he actually reminded me *gasps of horror* to give him his glass!!!
Would you believe it, I do believe that he has finally come to terms with the fact that, contrary to popular belief, I am not trying to poison him!!!!
Anyhow its late and I'm away!!
